Commemorative U.S. postage stamp issued in 1959 to mark the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Comstock Lode, one of the richest silver deposits in American history. Located in the Utah Territory (now Nevada), the lode yielded over $400 million in silver within two decades. The red-toned stamp features a mining scene based on an early woodcut, including figures and a horse at work near Mt. Davidson. Lightly mounted with stamp hinge tape, removable without damage. No gum disturbance unless noted.
