Commemorative U.S. postage stamp issued June 26, 1959, to celebrate the joint dedication of the St. Lawrence Seaway by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Queen Elizabeth II. This was the first stamp jointly issued by the United States and another country—Canada released a matching design. The red and dark blue stamp features a symbolic map of the Great Lakes flanked by a U.S. eagle and Canadian maple leaf, representing international cooperation and the shared economic impact of the Seaway.
