Commemorative U.S. postage stamp issued in 1960 to honor the opening of the nation’s first automated post office in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 20, 1960. The stamp features an architect’s sketch of the facility and marks the first U.S. issue dedicated specifically to the Post Office Department.
