Commemorative 5-cent U.S. postage stamp issued in 1963 to honor the 300th anniversary of the Carolina Charter. The stamp features a red background with a quill pen and the first page of the 1663 charter granted by King Charles II to eight Englishmen for lands stretching from Virginia to Florida and westward to the Pacific. The original charter is preserved in Raleigh, North Carolina. Lightly mounted with stamp hinge tape, removable without damage. No gum disturbance unless noted.
