1968 Scott #1355 – 6¢ Walt Disney / Children of the World – Canceled

Issued September 11, 1968, in Marceline, Missouri, this 6¢ U.S. commemorative stamp honors Walt Disney and his global legacy in animation and storytelling. The design features a portrait of Disney surrounded by colorful “Children of the World” figures inspired by the It’s a Small World attraction, first introduced at the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair. This was the first U.S. stamp ever issued to commemorate Walt Disney. Lightly mounted with stamp hinge tape, removable without damage. No gum disturbance unless noted.
