This 1975 U.S. Christmas postage stamp features a detail from Domenico Ghirlandaio’s painting Madonna and Child, created circa 1470–1475 and housed in the National Gallery of Art. Issued on October 14, 1975, it was the first U.S. stamp without a printed denomination, labeled simply “US Postage.” At the time, the effective rate was 10¢. This used example bears a 1976 Corpus Christi, TX postmark and is ideal for collectors of religious art, Christmas themes, or postal history milestones.
