Plate block of four 32¢ James K. Polk stamps issued November 2, 1995 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the 11th President’s birth. Polk was in office when the first U.S. postage stamps were issued and was the first sitting president ever photographed. The design features a drab‑brown engraved portrait typical of definitive issues of the period. Identified as Scott 2587. All stamps are mint, never hinged, with original gum and clean perforations.
