Block of four 32¢ Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamps issued July 29, 1998, the first fundraising stamp in U.S. history. Design by Ethel Kessler and illustration by Whitney Sherman show a woman raising her arm in a self‑examination pose. Originally sold at 40¢, with 8¢ donated to research: 70% to NIH and 30% to the Department of Defense Medical Research Program. All stamps remain attached in a clean block of four. Mint, never hinged with original gum. Identified as Scott No. B1.
