The Navy and Marine Corps Medal is the highest non-combat decoration awarded for heroism by the United States Department of the Navy to members of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
Awarded for acts of heroism that do not involve actual conflict with an enemy. The recipient must have demonstrated life-threatening risk to themselves while performing the heroic act.
The medal is an octagonal bronze medallion featuring an eagle holding a fouled anchor over a globe, with the word "Heroism" inscribed below the globe.
The ribbon of the medal consists of three equal stripes of navy blue, old gold, and apple red.
Size: Measures approximately 1-1/8 inches in height and 11/16 inches in width, making it suitable for hats, lapels, or other formal attire.
