Plate block of four 32¢ stamps issued September 18, 1997 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force as a separate military service. Artwork features four Thunderbirds F‑16 jets in a diamond formation. This was the first U.S. stamp to use Scrambled Indicia anti‑counterfeiting technology. Plate number P1111 appears in the lower‑right margin. All stamps are mint, never hinged with original gum. Identified as Scott No. 3167.
