Vertical strip of four 32¢ Kwanzaa stamps issued October 22, 1997, the first Kwanzaa stamp ever released by the U.S. Postal Service. Artwork by Synthia Saint James shows a family in traditional African attire with the seven symbols of Kwanzaa, including the kinara and mkeka. Part of the Holiday Celebrations Series, following the 1996 Hanukkah issue. All stamps remain attached in a clean strip. Mint, never hinged with original gum. Identified as Scott No. 3175.
