The U.S. Army Achievement Medal (AAM) is awarded to members of the U.S. Army for meritorious service or achievement in non-combat situations. Measuring 1-3/8 inches wide, 1-1/2 inches high, and 3-1/4 inches in overall height, this medal features a pinback design for secure attachment.
The obverse side displays a bronze hexagon with a central eagle emblem, wings spread, clutching arrows, and bearing a shield on its chest. This symbolizes strength, readiness, and service. The reverse side includes a blank panel for engraving, framed by the inscription "FOR MILITARY MERIT" and a laurel sprig.
The ribbon is myrtle green with Blue and white stripes, representing honor and service. Established in 1981, the AAM is often awarded for acts of excellence or as recognition for significant contributions.
