Airman's Mini Medal (3/4"D) Ribbon 3/4"W) Overall 2-1/4"H
Note: They had this glued to a display, I removed it from one with hair dryer heat, but not going to spend the time to do it to all of them, so be aware of this. Clearly Shown in the Photos as well.
The USAF Airman's Medal was established on July 6, 1960, to recognize acts of heroism by members of the U.S. Air Force or friendly nations. This medal is awarded for voluntary acts of bravery that involve personal risk but are not performed during combat. It replaced the Soldier's Medal for Air Force personnel, which had been awarded since the Air Force's separation from the Army in 1947
The medal's design features the Greek god Hermes, symbolizing speed and protection, releasing an American Bald Eagle into flight. The reverse side bears the inscription "For Valor" within a laurel wreath. The ribbon includes alternating yellow and ultramarine stripes, bordered by Brittany blue, reflecting the Air Force's colors
