The Navy Occupation Service Medal was a U.S. Navy award established on January 22, 1947, to recognize members of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard who participated in the occupation of territories of the United States' enemies during and after World War II. Specifically, it recognized service in European and Asian occupation forces, including those who served in West Berlin from 1945 to 1990.
